Abandoned - Part 3

Abandoned Room

Part 3

.. Continued from Part 2

I've been rearranging the room and can temporarily remove the stairs to see what it looks like. There is a lot more space and I think the aesthetic works better. I've added some trash. I plan on adding more. And added the picture of the Crying Boy. Click here for the story behind this painting. It's quite a fascinating story and it fits so well with the theme of the possible fire in this room.

I've changed the television. The flat screen I felt didn't fit well in this scene and seeing as it already has a 70s 80s vibe, I have got an old fashioned CRT TV on top of an old VCR. (eBay). It looks amazing and I'm really pleased I made this change. It's difficult to tell from the photo but I also added some vinyl to the tv screen to make it looked cracked and broken. (See Pixelmarket)

Next I have added the appearance of a missing picture frame by brushing brown watercolour paint around a stuck down frame. It gives a really good effect.

Close up a shelf I have painted up and scratched plus some tiny books. I printed the covers from a internet download and stuck them together with glue then aged them with brown watercolour paint.

I got a couple of packets of Benson & Hedges (my old smokes!) from Melody Jane and scattered them around the chair.

I found some tiny cans of pop in my old dolls house and gave them a makeover to look rusty!

I also found some old vinyl records which I’ve added to the desk.
I added some more board to the window and crime scene tape which I made by cutting up a real crime scene tape and drawing on it with Sharpie pen.

And there were have it! The finished project. I might add a few more tweaks later. I forgot to include my tiny bottle of whiskey! Problem with working with miniatures is everything is easy to lose. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed making it. My next project is Asylum.

And here is a video as we approach the finish of this project.
